Osmosis tells the story of two siblings and their company, which has created a new dating app that is preparing to launch. This dating app, Osmosis, collects brain data through an implant of nanobots. These nanobots read brain activity and hormone levels, interpreting whom their soulmate might be.
The series asks questions of love (real or unreal), humanity (pure or sullied by technology), privacy, technological influences, and the ethics of implanting foreign objects that can can analyse and interpret data from the brain at all times.
There are many instances of technology in general in this series: smartphones, digital tablets, a table that also works as an interactive screen, an AI named Martin, and surveillance cameras.
